Christmas presents almost completed (and a linky party)

In this past week where most of the time was spent on cooking, tidying, cleaning and eating, I managed to get several things done!!

Working on Xmas presents,  most of the people in my list are going to get a pair of pillow cases!

Hot dog pillow cases!

I struggle finding in my stash the big cuts that this project require! Each pillow case uses approximately 1 yard of fabric, so I have to get creative sometimes. On the good side, I can use up prints and colors that I wouldn't use otherwise and make more space in my stash for new purchases :)

Another small Xmas present is this fabric box 

It has the exact size of a weekly pill dispenser, because I think that it is good to be cheerful when you need to take daily medications :)

I made good progress in several other presents, but they are not quite done yet... however I plan to get them ready by the end of the weekend and this will be the first year that I complete all my presents before december begins!! And all thanks to the Bullet Journal/Quilter planner!! But more on this on December 1st! :)

Two more pillow cases done! These are a birthday present. I am becoming super fast making these... and that's a good thing because guess what everybody is getting for Xmas this year..? :)

The only other little project I completed is this cute bookmark.

2.75'' x 9''

I designed it in Google Spreadsheet and stitched it up using cross stitching!
It went together super fast. I then just zig-zagged a couple of times around three sides, slided in a piece of thick paper and then I hand stitched the top close. In this way if it bends, we can just change up the cardboard inside and the bookmark will be like new!! :)
I really really like that print! I have a fat quarter of it, and I used it to make my boyfriend a credit card wallet, a zipper pouch for his gps and now this. I still have some fabric left for other small projects. Don't you love when everything coordinates? ;)

You may remember from last week... I have a new obsession: hot dog pillow cases! I made 3 more!

3 new hot dog pillow cases: tutorial by Jennifer @ sewhooked

The two on the left will be sent out as a gift with the pouch below.
The one on the right is for my boyfriend because he said he loved that circuit/binary fabric... and of course I didn't have enough to complete the pillow case... and it's out of print, nowhere to be found :( :( :( oh, well... I think that the piecing worked.

Now who is the only one without a nice pillow case? Me of course!!
I need to measure my giant pillow and make one for myself!!

I made this scrappy zipper pouch for a friend.
It is pretty big, I am not super pleased by the lining, but I think it will be loved and used! :)

Then I made this block from "My Favorite Things" (by Jennifer)

Fast and easy pattern to get me back into paper piecing mode...
And thanks to that I also made a couple of more XX blocks for the 70273 Project.

Then I saw the Minion Design Invitation... so here are my blocks!

The Evil Minion was made of the wrong size... fixed in the pattern but for my block I just added a border... and some fuzzy yarn to make the hair, because it's fun!!
The Royal Minion is just simple embroidery and it was super fast to make!!

The patterns will be available at the end of June 2016 from Fandom In Stitches.

And after completing my two blocks, I went back and complete this other Minion

I couldn't really decide on a color scheme and the block is so simple... so I made two :)

I am working on charity quilts to help the kids in the DC General Homeless Shelter. 
I decided to make a matching pillow case for each quilt.

3 new hot dog pillow cases: tutorial by Jennifer @ sewhooked

The tutorial is sooooooooo easy and fast... that I couldn't stop to one pillow case per quilt... I am making some extras because they are so fun!
I have seen this tutorial and pillow cases a lot, but I've always thought: "well, it's just a pillow case, I have pillow cases so I don't need more"... well... I realized that store bought pillow cases are just boring and now I want to turn my entire stash into pillowcases for me!! :) :) I won't do it, but expect to see some fun Tula and other colorful pillow cases for me here in the next future! :) :)

I also embroidered four labels so that they are ready to be added to the quilts after quilting!! :)
