Some breaks here and there with my craftying and my drawing. 

But I am up to speed with Jane now!

My favorites are still the  stacked tangles! Because even if each section is completely different than the one next to it, they maintain a coherent and fun overall look... and I am still pretty bad in free hand circles ;)

My Tangle Thursday - Week 15, 16, 17

I don't know if anyone noticed... but I had a break in my Tangle Thursdays :)

The first reason was because Jane had a break herself for few weeks... and then she published all the designs in one go and I wanted to catch up a little bit before sharing again ;)

So here are Week 15, 16, 17. Week 18 is out but I didn't start on that yet!

I really like this last one (stacked tangles) because even if each section is completely different than the one next to it, they maintain a coherent and fun overall look.

My Tangle Thursday - Week 14

Again a fun string this week!

And as usual the original version by Jane on the left, and my reinterpretation on the right.

There are some parts I like, some others I kind of messed up... I hope to learn more motifs to fill the background space because I am not so inspired in that part usually and I don't like to leave them empty but I never know what to draw in those big spaces.

As usual on the left the original version by Jane, on the right my reinterpretation. I really like both of them and despite some weird lines here and there and some "mistakes" I love their overall look!

Back loving and enjoying this project!

Well, the string is still kind of round, but the main part of the string is not round which allowed me to have less weird shapes to start with. I really enjoyed how they both turned out (the original version on the left, and my reinterpretation on the right)

My Tangle Thursday - Week 11

Well... kind of Thursday... :)

Yes, I feel less committed to this effort because the strings keep being circles and with Mooka, which is a design that I don't particularly like.

However, in two weeks the string is not going to be a circle so hurraaaay... I am going to hang on to this project and see how it goes.

In the meantime, this is my usual imperfectly wonky effort for this week

My Tangle Thursday - Week 10

Ok, another circle :(

I'm starting to lose my passion for tangles... there is nothing wrong with circle strings (or zendalas, as this should be their official name) but I feel that starting with a wonky string line (done in pen, no pencils or chance to erase and fix things) make it hard for patterns to look fluent, regular and symmetric. 

Oh, well... next week there is another zendala... I am going to do my best again and try to enjoy the process ;) let's hope that after 10 circles, things are going  change: either I would start loving them or they will stop coming ;)

As usual, on the left I tried the original design that Jane proposes... and on the right I made some funky changes to the overall design. Sometimes I feel tangles are too serious so I had to have something a little different... I like it, it's very me :)

My Tangle Thursday - Week 5

The tangle journey continues! Back with a circle string and with my wonky attempt to get a circle without tools ;), but I like the final result even with the wonkiness and the imperfections! :)

I also joined Jane's new FB group and I am really impressed by the tangles I see there! I will post mine too because I decided that I don't care how less cool mine look, it's still good to put myself out there and try to get better!

My Tangle Thursday - Week 3 and 4

For this week, Jane shared two tangles: one for week 3 and one for week 4.

They were pretty challenging for different reasons and I learned a lot on what I like and what I don't like during the process.

While Jane always shows the strings she uses, the first design was very challenging. The first try (the small one on the left) didn't end up with the right "plus pattern" in the center and other patterns are also not that great. But doing that allowed me to understand better the overall design and do better the second time (the big one on the right). I am very pleased about how that turned out!!

For the second one, I was happy that the string was not a big circle, however I realized I don't like too much empty space or just simple line filling, I really like using black to give a "checkerboard" effect, so I added a lot of that in my version compared to the original one by Jane. I am pleased of the result and I hope that next tangle will teach me even more things about myself :)

My Tangle Thursday - Week 2.5

For this week, Jane didn't have the chance to share a full new tangle (life is busy for everybody), however she shared one single small pattern (Bulls Eye) so I worked with that. Since next week she is going to share both week 3 and week 4, I used pages in the past in my planner :)

So this is my third tangle.

My Tangle Thursday - Week 1

Since last year, when I won the wonderful book "Tangle Stitches" by Jane Monk in a giveaway, I have been obsessed with tangles (both on paper and with my sewing machine... more on the latter soon on this blog ;) ).

Last week, also Susan @ Quilt Fabrication posted about this book and she pointed out that Jane is going to show one of her tangles per week for the entire 2015 at onetangle.blogspot.com!

For Christmas I received a little weekly planner that is very cute but not very useful for me (as planner), so instead of putting it away and never use it, I thought that this weekly tangle commitment is the perfect use for that! It keeps track of the date and it's the perfect size to entertain myself with some small tangle meditation!

And since I really like to share my progress in a consistent way here on my blog, I decided to initiate a new Thursday post (called My Tangle Thursday) where I show the tangle of the week!

So here is my first tangle of 2015!
